The 2019 edition of the Fulton Family Performance & Production Sale was held Friday, August 9, in the James Kjerstad Event Center at the Central States Fairground in Rapid City, SD in front of a big crowd of buyers, family, and friends. The sale featured 39 horses going through the ring carrying some of the top bloodlines in the business. 

 

All of the high sellers were by A Streak Of Fling, a multiple NFR sire with offspring earnings nearing $4 million. He is the No. 4 Equi-Stat Leading Barrel Horse of All Time. 

 

The elegant, silky-moving bay filly, GiveAWinkToStreaker, was a sale favorite that sold to Fred Lenertz for $20,000. She is out of Rachael Myllymaki’s pro rodeo winning mare and NFR Qualifier, Give Me A Wink, by Doc O Dynamite. Give Me A Wink earned more than $400,000 and is the daughter of Myllymaki’s first NFR horse Miss Wayne Page. GiveAWinkToStreaker is a full sister to Streakin Winkin Doc, a multiple futurity finalist and pro rodeo winner.

 

Paddys Lena Streak, a brown filly, also is heading home to Minnesota with Fred Lenertz for $20,000. She is out of Paddys Lena Whiskey, a daughter of Paddys Irish Whiskey out of Easy April Lena, a full sister to Myllymaki’s NFR qualifier and Calgary Stampede Champion Easy Does It Doc. Easy April Lena is one of the foundation mares of the Fulton broodmare band, her and her daughters have produced rodeo winners in multiple events. 

 

A Easy Streak, a good looking, rodeo-built bay roan full sister in blood to Paddys Lena Streak, was the fourth high-seller, bringing a $19,000 bid from John Jacobi. A full sister to StreakinIrishWhiskey, the 2018 Nebraska High School Rodeo Champion Barrel Horse, A Easy Streak is out of Easy April Whiskey, a full-sister to Paddys Lena Whiskey. 

 

Guest consignor Stephanie Wheeler brought her striking palomino stallion, A Peacharita Fling, who commanded $21,000 and sold to Candace Volmer-Waln. A Peacharita Fling is out of SX Dr Peacharita, by Dr Nick Bar. A former BFA Derby Champion and Open 1D Champion at races such as the All-American Youth and NBHA Youth World, SX Dr Peacharita has earnings in excess of $250,000. She is half-sister to current pro rodeo winner Fames To Blame, who helped Ivy Conrado qualify for the 2018 NFR. SX Dr Peacharita is out of futurity champion and proven producer SX Frenchmans Peach, by Frenchmans Guy.

 

A pair of $18,000 purchases wrapped up the top 5. Dynamites Last Fling, a 2-year-old bay roan, out of the Doc O Dynamite mare Dynamites Last Chex, sold to Don Hoffman. John Jacobi purchased the Melissa Brandt consignment, a yet-to-be-named weanling bay roan colt out of Silky French Pie, the 2006 leading five-year-old futurity horse and pro rodeo money earner, by Frenchmans Guy.

 

Overall, the 19 head by A Streak Of Fling sold for $250,250 with a $13,717 average price and $12,000 median. The 13 2-year-olds by A Streak Of Fling averaged $14,596, while the two yearlings averaged $9,625 and two weanlings averaged $13,500. The two 2-year-olds by CS Flashlight brought $9,750 and $9,500 for an average of $9,625. The five 2-year-olds by Fulton junior sire A Dash Ta Streak sold for an average of $8,100 and a median price of $8,750.
